Kayak, canyoning, hiking

From May to September, every Tuesday evening from 7:00 pm until sunset, we organise introductory kayak technique sessions on the Santerno River in Castel del Rio, in the Santerno Valley. We provide all the equipment and teach the basics in a practical and enjoyable way, directly on the water, surrounded by the natural landscape of the Imola Apennines in Emilia-Romagna.
During the season, we also offer guided excursions and canyoning experiences in the wider Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines, depending on weather and river conditions.

Road cycling, MTB, downhill, and off-road

The area around Castel del Rio, in the Santerno Valley and the Imola Apennines, is especially popular with cyclists. Scenic roads for road biking, gravel tracks and MTB trails wind through the hills and woodlands of Emilia-Romagna, with more technical sections for those looking for a challenging ride, including downhill-style routes. The area is also attractive for motocross and off-road enthusiasts, thanks to its varied terrain and quiet secondary roads.

Local festivals and events

Throughout the year, Castel del Rio and the Santerno Valley, in the Imola Apennines of Emilia-Romagna, host traditional local events. From the July Renaissance Festival to late-summer celebrations dedicated to truffles and porcini mushrooms, and the well-known Chestnut Festival held on weekends in October, the area offers authentic opportunities to experience local food, traditions and village atmosphere.

A convenient base for Imola events

The campsite is a practical and peaceful base for major events at the Imola Circuit (Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari). Castel del Rio is located in the Santerno Valley, less than 30 minutes from Imola, in the Imola Apennines. Guests can attend races, concerts or events and return in the evening to the quiet countryside of Emilia-Romagna, avoiding city traffic and peak accommodation prices.

Day trips

Many guests choose Campeggio Alidosi in Castel del Rio, in the Santerno Valley, as a convenient and affordable base to explore some of the most beautiful cities in Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany. From here it is easy to reach Bologna, Florence, Ravenna and Ferrara. You can spend the day visiting a city and return in the evening to the peaceful setting of the Imola Apennines, surrounded by nature and far from urban crowds.
